Banned gymnastics skills

Hi there, help is required on Talk:Code_of_Points_(artistic_gymnastics)#Banned_skills_:_need_help_/_mentor. The draft could be developed into a proper short article or merged into Code_of_Points_(artistic_gymnastics). Pending proposal to declare NSPORTS (and NGYMNASTICS) an invalid argument at AfD

A new proposal is now pending to add language to NSPORT providing, among other things, that "meeting [NSPORTS or NGYMNASTICS] would not serve as a valid keep argument in a deletion discussion." Nobility requirements for junior gymnasts

In WP:NGYMNASTICS, there is a requirement for junior gymnasts to have their own Wiki articles that needed to be improved. It is said that "Significant coverage is likely to exist for junior gymnasts if they won an individual gold medal at the junior national championships for any of the following countries: USA, Russia, China, Romania (females only). Should there be a same criteria for boy gymnasts too? I believe USA, Russia, China and Romania are mentioned because their WAG teams are very strong, and correspondingly China, Japan and Russia are very dominant in the men's field as well. Therefore I believe boy junior champions from those 3 should also meet the nobility requirements. NguyenDuyAnh1995 (talk) 03:58, 25 April 2022 (UTC)

User script to detect unreliable sources

I have (with the help of others) made a small user script to detect and highlight various links to unreliable sources and predatory journals. Some of you may already be familiar with it, given it is currently the 39th most imported script on Wikipedia. The idea is that it takes something like

• John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14. (John Smith "[https://www.deprecated.com/article Article of things]" ''Deprecated.com''. Accessed 2020-02-14.)

and turns it into something like

• John Smith "Article of things" Deprecated.com. Accessed 2020-02-14.

It will work on a variety of links, including those from {{cite web}}, {{cite journal}} and {{doi}}.

The script is mostly based on WP:RSPSOURCES, WP:NPPSG and WP:CITEWATCH and a good dose of common sense. I'm always expanding coverage and tweaking the script's logic, so general feedback and suggestions to expand coverage to other unreliable sources are always welcomed.

New to wikipedia and would like to be part of the project but unsure how to properly work on this site

Hello! I have been actively editing on the gymnastics wiki exclusively, but want to help on wikipedia as well to help add new gymnast pages and add more detail to some existing ones. What's been keeping me from making a wikipedia up until now was that I am very unsure of how to properly use this site, so was hoping for some pointers from anyone here before I start helping out. Thanks! I was also wondering since I found some articles that could be promoted from C to B (Kyla Ross) how I could nominate an article for promotion. I only know how to nominated an article to be a GA (Good article). Thanks!!

Unless it's a GA or a Featured Article (FA) you can promote the article yourself by editing the talk page whenever the main article is upgraded. Riley1012 (talk) 21:23, 22 July 2022 (UTC)

Articles of Japanese gymnasts have their names in the incorrect order and should be changed

In Japan, the family name is first followed by the given name. For example, Murakami Mai is the correct way to say her name as opposed to Mai Murakami. I don't know how to or if I am even able to change the names for these gymnasts, but these articles should have their titles switched asap. TheWAGymFan (talk) 15:01, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
