Eva Marcelle Pigford (born October 30, 1984 in Los Angeles, California) is an African-American fashion model and actress. She was the winner of the third cycle of America's Next Top Model.
Biography
Pigford attended Washington Preparatory High School in South Los Angeles, California (class of 2002). She attended Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia
Modeling/Acting Career
She was the winner of the third cycle of America's Next Top Model[1], and her prizes included a CoverGirl cosmetics contract, a spread in Elle magazine, and a Ford modeling contract.
Pigford continued to model after the show. She's appeared on the cover of Brides Noir, Women's Health and Fitness (May 2005), King magazine (June 2005), IONA (November 2005), and Essence magazine.[2]
Her other modeling credits include CoverGirl, DKNY, Samsung, Red by Marc Ecko, Jewel magazine, In Touch Weekly magazine (June 2005), King magazine (November 2005), IONA, UNleashed magazine, Star Magazine, ELLE, ELLEgirl, Applebottoms, and Lerner Catalog.
Pigford's runway shows include the Marc Bouwer Fall 2005, ELLEgirl presents Dare To Be You: Wal-Mart Meets America's Next Top Models 2005, Gharani Strok Fall 2005, Deborah Lindquist Spring 2006, Naqada Spring 2006, and 8th Annual 'Models of Perfection' Show 2006. [3] [4]
Pigford has guest starred in six episodes of Kevin Hill and hosted BET's Rip the Runway. She appeared in an episode of Nick Cannon's Wild 'N Out. [5] She also was in the movie The Walk. Eva is the leading lady[6] in Jamie Foxx's music video, DJ Play A Love Song.
Pigford will host BET J's new reality show, "My Model Looks Better Than Your Model", which premiered on November 1, 2006.
Trivia
- She was the first winner of America's Next Top Model to be under the minimum required height of 5'7" (She is 5'6" 1/2).
- In the song "On & On" by Missy Elliott, Elliott makes reference to Pigford in the line "Top model diva, but my name not Eva".
- On November 15, 2006, Pigford left her managers Benny Medina and Tyra Banks. After leaving Banks and Medina for new management, she officially dropped "Pigford" from her name and is now going by Eva Marcille (a modification of her middle name), according to her official website[7] and MySpace.
- Eva has posed with long time friend Frenchie Davis for a promotional flyer for Atlanta's Black Gay Pride festivities in 2006.
