Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution
Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Battle of Roncevaux Pass (824) into Roncevaux Pass. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 13:59, 12 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Diannaa, you are completely right, of course. Thank you for the reminder, I will correct it and provide the attribution. KPX8 (talk) 14:06, 12 October 2020 (UTC)

Women in Red
Hi there, KPX8, and welcome to Women in Red. It's good to see you intend to help us along with more articles about Czech women. Given your recent biography of Hana Marvanová, you should be a useful new contributor. I see that you have included a translation tag on Marvanová's talk page but for attribution purposes, translation from the Czech article should also have been mentioned in the article's first edit summary. As an administrator on the Czech wiki, you should have opportunities to select interesting articles for translation. If you have not already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 06:35, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- @Ipigott Thank you for the really nice personal welcome! Wow, now I feel good! :-) And also thanks for the suggestion about attribution... one can learn something new every day! As you have kindly noticed, I am not a complete beginner on Wikipedia, but enWiki does have some peculiar intricacies, I might even say it is slightly more bureaucratic than what I am used to elsewhere (well, about bazillion times more). But I'll continue to explore. And if I do need help with some possible future tough wiki issue, I am happy to know I have someone to ask. Thank you again! And now off to destroying some more red links... :-) KPX8 (talk) 07:13, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, indeed. The "intricacies" of the EN wiki are not easy to master but I can guarantee you will find things less hostile on Women in Red where we try to do everything possible to help our contributors along. I've just been looking at the impressive list of articles you have created since 2020 on the CS wiki. I see most of them are translations from the English. As you are now interested in working in the other direction, you might find some inspiring names in our list of redlinked women from Wikidata or by browsing more generally through our Redlist index.--Ipigott (talk) 08:51, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:35, 29 November 2022 (UTC)
