About Me

I come and go in extremely long stretches. I get email if you drop a note on my talk page, though.

I can has words

Writing is my first love. Which is not to say I'm great at it. I mostly just don't suck; I can string a decent sentence together, but I am the queen of typos. Consequently, I mostly fix text problems like awkward and repetitive phrasing. And since I'm a huge nerd, this means I mostly end up polishing plot summaries, primarily for the Film Project. Bonus: it means I don't have to try and hold too much wikicode in my head.

I welcome suggestions on my talk page, if you know of a plot that needs whacking. I'm mostly a genre nerd so the odds of my working on an article dramatically increases if it involves time travel, space battles, zombies, or wizards.

Peeves (as in pet)

  • Irregardless: If you use this "word" I will have a very hard time taking you seriously. I will probably mock you mercilessly. IMO, it's worth getting banned for it if just one person realizes they are speaking gibberish.
  • General consensus: Redundant redundant
  • It is shown that "it is shown" may be one of the most abused phrases in the fiction related articles on Wikipedia.
  • The film begins is no way to start a plot summary.
  • Mixed to generally positive reviews is sort of to essentially meaningless.
  • He is the secondary antagonist of the film And wikipedia is not your book report. Reverted.

Why people quit editing

The editor who started that whole mess has since been banned. And I still get mad when I remember this incident. I've never seen an ANI I've been involved in handled this poorly.

Stuff to poke

Misc.

Unless otherwise noted, these all need plot trimming and/or polishing.

  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F/X:_The_Series Under cast list, Jacqueline Torres needs a stub page. Way outside my usual wheelhouse but kind of weird she doesn't have one given that she still works fairly often. I'm trying very, very hard to not read into why that might be.
  • https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seeing_Red_(Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer) I'm actually extremely hesitant to dip my toe back into trimming Buffy related plots due to some nasty experiences I've had here on Buffy articles in the past regarding in-universe and fancruft problems. But this one is similar enough to the fandom wiki's episode description that I'm surprised it hasn't triggered a plagiarism tag. ANd it's freaky long.

Been awhile since I've played with these but it needs reception and box office fleshed out enough to be able to kill the tone problems in what little is currently there. SHould be able to get at least a bare bones paragraph there. Ask for extra eyeballs when done to make sure I don't go against standards or bork a ref tag.
