Victory City is a novel by Salman Rushdie published in February 2023. It is Rushdie's fifteenth novel. Victory City is framed as the translation of a fictional epic originally written in Sanskrit.[1]
Due to the attack on Rushdie in 2022, he will not be promoting the novel in public, though he has published several tweets and spoken to The New Yorker and WNYC Studios about it.[1] The novel was finished before Rushdie was attacked.[2][3][4]
Critical reception
According to literary review aggregator Book Marks, the novel received mostly "Rave" reviews prior to publication.[5]
