Sorry was just having a little fun on han shot first, is there a way to fake edit a page like a testing page for a page and not edit the main page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.12.48.201 (talk) 03:17, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Kielana - What the Bleep (again)!!!!
[edit]Again, a small group of editors have timed things so as to lock the "What the Bleep" article in a non-consensus state, and there are BLP considerations in play.
Please consider taking a look at some previous versions for BLP considerations and restoring as you may see fit. This tactic has been working too well for too long, and other editors are unable to keep up with the tendentious and (some, like me) just can't "ride" the thing long enough and persistently enough to keep up. Thanks, WNDL42 (talk) 03:44, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
I saw that you warned Jc51189 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) not to engage in vandalism again. I witnessed an act of vandalism by this user, and a look at his or her contribution history suggests that all this editor is interested in is vandalism. There doesn't seem that Jc51189 has ever made a single constructive edit. Based on this evidence, I would recommend some sort of block, possibly a temporary one, in order to relay to this individual that further vandalism will definitely not be tolerated. ~ Homologeo (talk) 07:26, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Congratulations, Keilana, for (soundly) beating me to thirty thousand (30,000) edits. The question remains however, are you a better vandal fighter than I, or just a more tireless contributor... Kudos, · AndonicO Hail! 10:16, 22 February 2008 (UTC) |
And yes, I am aware that "more tireless" is both redundant and incorrect. I hope you forgive my sloppy coding, I couldn't align the two images to be on the same level. · AndonicO Hail! 10:16, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- NO, no more edit races. I'm just going to write now... no more huggle, in fact, for a while. · AndonicO Hail! 13:33, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- Peer reviews very rarely get any input, and we have very talented writers... I'm guessing it would be faster to just go ahead with it. I did an AndyZ automated peer review, the results are on User talk:AndonicO/Tzatziki Squad. · AndonicO Hail! 22:06, 22 February 2008 (UTC)

Please cancel an edit violating The 3RR
[edit]- Some days ago, an editor made this edit.
- On 23 February, at 5:15, the same editor has made his first revert.
- On the same day, at 22:23, the same editor made his second revert.
- On that very day, at 22:57, the same editor made his third revert.
- On the same day, at 23:26, the same editor made his fourth revert.
Please cancel his fourth revert - which violates 3RR. No need to warn him, because I'm sure it was not done on purpose! He's an honest person who is absolutely aware to the 3RR and has always obeyed the 3RR. Eliko (talk) 01:30, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- You know this can be taken to WP:AN3RR, right? It's a noticeboard for people violating 3RR and admins can be blocked. —BoL 04:13, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
- I have really placed such a message, but it was removed!
- Please undo the fourth revert which violates the 3RR.
- What do you mean by saying "admins can be blocked"? can administrators be blocked? for what?
- Eliko (talk) 06:33, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Hello
[edit]I couldn't figure out your response on my talk page. You've responded as follows:
- As far as I can tell, neither of you violated 3RR. You both hit the limit of 3 reverts, but neither of you actually went over, so consider this a friendly warning. Please do discuss it with him and on the talk page, but you're both OK as far as I can tell. :) Thanks
However, I have indicated on your talk page all of the four reverts! see here under the title: "Please cancel an edit violating The 3RR". Eliko (talk) 06:53, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Admin Coaching Re-confirmation
[edit]Hello, previously you expressed interest in participating in the Wikipedia:Admin coaching project. We are currently conducting a reconfirmation drive to give coaches the opportunity to update their information and capacity to participate in the project. Incomprehensable
[edit]Dear Keilana,
You found some of my writing incomprehensable according to the following administrator:
"RS I'm sorry that your first interaction on Wikipedia was this harsh exchange. Here's what seems to me to have happened: you tried to create an article on "Non-mystical cabala" twice, and both times it was deleted by an admin named Keilana because it was "unsalvageably incomprehensible". (I'm an admin, so I can see the deleted text, and with all due respect I have to agree with her assessment.)"
I empathise with you. Hieroglyphs, Ugh! Please point me to one of the sentences that defied comprehension. Thanks, JSJohnshoemaker (talk) 07:40, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- As an uninvolved party, I took a look at it, and here are some of the parts that are incomprehensible to me:
- "This gloss is termed Carlo Suarez or non-mystical cabala because It is not ‘above the intellect."
- "Any who have chosen to work in his “laboratory” have not published."
- "Something is either in the “container” or concept or outside."
- "Verifications? CYPHER OF GENESIS. THE MERIDIAN and BANTAM MEGHIDDO HEBREW/ENGLISH DICTIONARYS"
- "Carlo writes that the Mem(40) is a period of forming or teaching as in the womb. Surely Noun(50), often said to symbolize “fish,” has spiritual significance not limited to the calendar."
- "Not so with any other published books or internet offerings. The “opening” was for a moment and it appears to be closed."
- From what I could see, there is no way another person could edit this article with the content provided. The parts that seemed to follow common english conventions were so speculative and unreferenced "There has been no published writing following on Carlo’s works though he is often quoted.." that I must concur with Keilana. MBisanz talk 07:51, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
MB As an uninvolved party, I took a look at it, and here are some of the parts that are incomprehensible to me:
JS Uninvolved: I have two glosses on the word “cabalist” !. One who uses the definitions of the sacred letters to study Torah privately and/or with a teacher or small group. 2. One who promulgates false definitions of the letters or denies there are definitions, all very publicly. Likely you don’t fit either of my glosses and I hope your “aspiring cabalist” label, even though you may have intended it humorously signifies some interest in the base document that when tortuously rendered into English begins with the allegorical expression “In the Beginning.” Thanks for taking the time.
‘this gloss is termed Carlo Suarez or non-mystical cabala because It is not ‘above the intellect." ‘ I agree this is bad. The Kabbalah article states that it is mystical Jewish tradition, that is “above the intellect.” I meant to emphasize that Suarez’s use of the term “cabala” was not outside the intellect. There’s a page that sends different uses, glosses of the word to different pages. But it still must be comprehensible to at least some editors.
“Any who have chosen to work in his “laboratory” have not published”
JS Bad. Personal irrelevant observation. What I meant was: Allegorical. Above I had paraphrased Suarez; the laboratory for testing formulas(groups of Torah glyphs) in cabala was the individual mind. Empirical work of a scientist must be testable in any other scientist’s laboratory. I was too judgemental. Many have published, quoting Suarez and expanding on his sentences but none have worked directly from his definitions of the Hglyphs, elements of thought. I haven’t found a writer who appears to have owned a Hebrew/English dictionary and digested it using Suarez’s definitions.
- About every two years after CYPHER OF GENESIS found me in ’81 I would go to the nearest University library, Tulane, and search thru all the “cabala” books for someone starting with the definitions. Suarez wrote that physicists would be the most likely ones to appreciate the definitions. I did. We are taught to feel glyphs and formulas thereof; get graded on it. I haven’t looked for another appreciative physicist for awhile.
"Something is either in the “container” or concept or outside."
The definition given Suarez for Baht is: a concept. I looked up the definition of a concept: a label for a group of similar things. My Heb/Eng. dictionaries give “in” as a definition for Bayt. It is the first symbol in Torah. The English Bible gives “In…….” When one consciously holds a concept in mind, say tricycle, for that moment things other than tricycles are outside the conscious mind. Giving it cypher value two is apt. In and out is a twoness. Humor: Careful, some women will be irritated if you speak of the concept “woman” as though you think they are all similar.
"Verifications? CYPHER OF GENESIS. THE MERIDIAN and BANTAM MEGHIDDO HEBREW/ENGLISH DICTIONARYS"
JS I haven’ read the WP definition of verification yet. These titles refer to the books wherein the above ideas can be found.
"Carlo writes that the Mem(40) is a period of forming or teaching as in the womb. Surely Noun(50), often said to symbolize “fish,” has spiritual significance not limited to the calendar."
JS Best to leave this out of an introduction to the definitions.
As a graduate student in Baltimore in ’64 or ’65 before classes started I went to a party and saw my first N.Y.T. and Sunday supplement, Parade? It held an article stating that a Jewish male, over forty, who had memorized Torah, read all of Talmud and some other texts could apply to be taught the definitions of the individual symbols, letters in the Hebrew bible if he promised not to talk about it until he was 50. As a physicist it made perfect sense to me. The silence till “50” part appeared to be a prohibition like no “pearls before swine” or folks who won’t lay the foundation. It was much later that I noted the NT quoting the Pharisees as saying, “why are you speaking of these things and you are not yet 50." I took these as calendar time back then. Suarez is explicit about the significance of the Mem, 40 as a period of formation as in “40 years in the desert” and “40 years in the desert. I did speculate that the “50” in the NT and Parade article weren’t calendar ages.
"Not so with any other published books or internet offerings. The “opening” was for a moment and it appears to be closed."
JS Culled. This was my research. Allegorically, the door between those who know the definitions and us has only been opened during the ‘60s according to Suarez. The Parade article was also evidence. Suarez uses the term “opening.” Likely whoever “opened” to him used it. He wrote that there was a surge of open-mindedness in the ‘60s that prompted the opening.
Using your editing suggestions I'll write a more succint article and ask you to look at it. Thanks again.
Keilana, thanks for loaning me your blackboard and sending me to MB.

[edit]Hi. :) I've been considering helping out at admin coaching, and I'm not sure yet that I can best help out there. Somebody suggested looking for an active admin coach and getting opinions, and you immediately came to mind. :D Honestly, I expect I'd really prefer to find some sort of intermediate adoption stage...my efforts at Wikipedia:Adoption didn't pan out because so many absolute newbies there don't seem to be serious about joining in (my one adoptee focused on one article & disappeared). But since I've never nominated a user for adminship and seldom participate at RfA, I'm not sure I can best guide a user through the pitfalls of that process. I think I'm talking myself out of this right here on your talk page. ;) Maybe what I should do is offer myself up as a sub-coach somewhere.
Anyway, dithering aside, my question to you, if you have time & inclination to answer, concerns the function of an admin coach. Is admin coaching in your experience mostly about preparing people to handle the actual work of adminship, or does it involve a healthy dose of preparation for the politics of RfA? If the former, I could probably do somebody some good. If the latter, I think any potential admin coachees of mine would do better with somebody else until and unless I become more active there. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 16:54, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, I'd love to collaborate with you, too! That would give me a great chance to get my feet wet and see how it goes, and I bet you'd be an awesome mentor. :) As for likely candidates, I don't know. Maybe after they retool the admin coaching page, it would be possible to pick somebody out. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- This talkback thing has limited value. :D Tag! --Moonriddengirl (talk) 23:54, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
My RfA
[edit]Thank you very much for your support for my admin application, which recently closed successfully (36/3/1). I hope I can continue to justify the confidence that you have placed in me. If there is any way that I can help out more, or if you have any handy tips for a freshly-hatched admin, please drop me a line. Thanks again. - 52 Pickup (deal) 21:43, 1 March 2008 (UTC)
