The Windhoek City Council is the governing body of Windhoek, the capital and largest city of Namibia.
History
Windhoek was established as an independent municipality in 1909, 19 years after its founding,[1] with Amandus Fritsche serving as the settlement's first mayor in that same year. Klein Windhoek came under Windhoek's jurisdiction in 1921.[2]
