Marianne Williamson, an author, spiritual activist, and candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination in 2020, announced her campaign for the 2024 United States presidential election on March 4, 2023.[1] Williamson is the first candidate to be a major candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, due to President Biden not yet announcing if he will seek re-election.[citation needed] She is the first female candidate since the formation of the primary system in 1912 to seek the nomination twice against a Democratic president.[citation needed]

Williamson told ABC News her policies included free healthcare, free college and free childcare.[2]
