Champion is an upcoming eight-part British TV series made for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. It is written by Candice Carty-Williams in her debut television project.

Synopsis

The Champion siblings Bosco, and Vita, risk a musical rivalry that could drive their family apart.[1]

The project is from New Pictures and Balloon Entertainment, and produced by Joy Gharoro-Akpojotor. Executive producers are Bryan Elsley, Dave Evans and Danielle Scott-Haughton for Balloon Entertainment, Charlie Pattinson, Willow Grylls and Imogen O’Sullivan for New Pictures, Candice Carty-Williams, and Jo McClellan for the BBC.

Ray BLK is music executive on the project along with Ghetts.[2]

Casting

In July 2025 the cast was announced to include Déja J Bowens, Malcolm Kamulete, Ray BLK, Nadine Marshall, Ray Fearon, Jo Martin, Kerim Hassan, Adeyinka Akinrinade, Tom Forbes, Genesis Lynea, Karl Collins, Francis Lovehall, Corey Weekes and Rachel Adedeji.[3]

Broadcast

In July 2022 Netflix bought the rights to the series outside the UK and Ireland.[4]
