I would like to add the fact that Leeds have now won the Festa d'Elx Trophy in a mid-season friendly against Elche CF. Lewis Dockerty (talk) 10:07, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Lewis Dockerty: Hardly notable, you haven't provided a source for this either. Not done. Govvy (talk) 11:36, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Easily sourced [1] [2], but it belongs in 2022–23_Leeds_United_F.C._season if anywhere. Black Kite (talk) 12:33, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi. See source: Yorkshire Evening Post Lewis Dockerty (talk) 14:12, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"In 1984, another badge was introduced which lasted until 1998, making it the longest lived of the modern era." Delete the second clause of this sentence entirely, as it's first, unsourced, and second, clearly wrong (or at least, outdated) according to the article's own text, which shortly thereafter discusses a badge in use from 2002 to 2019, which by my maths is about three years longer than the above. 109.255.211.6 (talk) 20:57, 28 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --Mvqr (talk) 12:49, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! 109.255.211.6 (talk) 22:09, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

peer review?

Did the article ever have a peer review? Because the archive link above is red, which kinda suggests it never happened. Or does it need to be removed from the talk page header templates?? Govvy (talk) 15:26, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The peer review was from when the club used A.F.C. rather than F.C., so it's located at Wikipedia:Peer review/Leeds United A.F.C./archive1. Kosack (talk) 16:04, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
And the redlink above?? Should it be moved over? Redirect? Govvy (talk) 19:03, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fairly sure either of the above would be fine. As a mere IP I can't do either, but I suggest you WP:BOLD it! Arguably adding a redirect is the more 'history-preserving' choice, if you're looking for a preference. 109.255.211.6 (talk) 22:09, 29 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
But actually there's a third method, tweaking the parameters to the template, and one which I can do. Nay, have done! 109.255.211.6 (talk) 04:26, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add the league history graphic that was removed by Mattythewhite on 3 Jan 2023. This graphic is used consistently throughout team pages to show progression up and down the league table and it's very useful/informative to quickly see a teams history over time without needing to parse through an entire history section (if it exists for a team):

A chart showing the progress of Leeds United through the English football league system

Just to note that I did not remove the chart from the page but rather relocated it to the records section, see here. It must have been removed by another editor at a later time. Mattythewhite (talk) 00:09, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ken Bates' purchase

The board finally sold the club to Ken Bates for £10 million.

Really should be ammended to make clear that Bates paid £10m for a 50% share of the club, as per the source. I would also suggest that the article includes reference to the quote from Gerald Krasner (again in the source) that the club was £25m in debt at the time

"Bates purchased a 50% stake of Leeds United in January 2005 when the club's debt stood at under £25m" 52 86.16.189.71 (talk) 12:08, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing done, you haven't provided any sources for this information. Govvy (talk) 16:01, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As I said, you don't need to change sources, just accurately represent the BBC source already used:

"The 73-year-old former Chelsea chairman sealed the deal at 0227 GMT on Friday, and has bought a 50% stake in the club."
