Being an adopted daughter of Jayaram and Damayanthi, Krishna gets mistreated by Damayanthi and their daughter Raashi. Innocent, soft-spoken and kind hearted Krishna had always yearned for love. Maheshwari chooses Krishna for her son Manohar and get them married while Manohar's cousin Harsha and Raashi get married. The story revolves around her struggles to win the heart of her husband Manohar, who does not love her with her strict mother in law Maheshwari turning mentor for her, amidst which Raashi hatches various plans to defame Krishna and separate her from the family. Varshini, Mano's sister is set to marry Uday, the brother of Mano's former love interest Hema. Varshini acts as if she is pregnant with Uday's progeny to convince Maheshwari for getting her married to Uday. On the wedding day, Uday abducts Krishna when the latter discovers that he is acting as if he loves Varshini and is getting married to her to take revenge on Mano for getting married to Krishna despite being in a relationship with Hema. |

Jayaram and Damayanti, a couple passing by witness the accident are Lakshmi, before dying requests them to take Krishna away and give away her jewels for them to raise her away from the dangers posed by Harinarayana. With his brother and sister-in-law dead, Harinarayana, who pretends to mourn their death, indulges in a search for a missing Krishna, who would inherit the property after them. Uday is revealed to be Krishna's cousin. Krishna's biological parents were murdered by Uday's father for her property when she was a toddler. After Raashi has a miscarriage, she puts the blame on Krishna. Due to conflicts, the house is divided into two with a line drawn separating it. Maheshwari, Krishna, Manohar and the latter's father live on one side of the house while Harsha, his parents Leelavathi and Jagadish and Raasi live on other side. Maheshwari moves out of the house with her family after discovering that Varshini was modelling in Uday's agency and was having an affair with him few days after her marriage. Leelavathi and Jagadish realize their mistake and tries to unite with Maheshwari and buys a house in their neighbourhood. Years have passed; Jayaram and Damayanti have raised Krishna alongside their kids Raasi and Surya but Damayanti didn't let Krishna to be educated and has her perform all the household chores. Manohar aka Mano is the elder heir in his generation, belongs to a wealthy family and admires his mother Maheshwari, who chooses Krishna to be her daughter-in-law. Mano has an affair with his sister Varshini's friend Hema but Maheshwari disapproves of her and Mano, who cannot defy his mother obliges to her commands. Hema is revealed to be Harinarayana's daughter and thus Krishna's cousin. Raasi lays a trap to Mano's cousin Harsha, whose wedding is fixed with a girl of his mother Leelavati's choice. Raasi causes Harsha's fiance Swapna and her mother to believe that he is having an affair with her and has been planning to continue the affair after his marriage to Swapna. The misconception results in Swapna's parents canceling the wedding at the last minute publicly revealing about Harsha's affair with Raasi which is actually untrue; Damayanti requests the family to have Raasi and Harsha married claiming that none would marry her after this rumor and they oblige, intending to to do the same. Raasi hatches several conspiracies to break Krishna's rapport with Maheshwari and the family, intending to oust her out of the house due to her jealousy, all of which fail. Varshini loves Uday, Hema's brother and to compel her family into accepting their relationship, she fakes her pregnancy bribing a doctor and helpless, for the unborn kid's future, Maheshwari decides to have Uday and Varshini married. Actually, Uday intends to use Varshini for blackmailing Mano to get back to Hema. He has Krishna abducted when she perceives his conspiracies but Raasi rescues her and they expose Uday and Varshini's lie. Maheshwari forces Varshini to marry Surya though Varshini disapproves of it. |

Raasi has a miscarriage and the family accuse Krishna, holding her responsible for it. As conflicts exaggerate, Maheshwari, her husband Prasad, Mano and Krishna begin to leave in a separate house. Leelavati and her husband Jagadish realize their mistake and try to get back to Maheshwari's family. Mano drinks in a party due to Raasi and later, forces himself upon Krishna, which she hates. She distances herself from Mano but conceives; When Maheshwari discovers that Mano had maritally raped Krishna, she leaves the house in disappointment and meets with an accident; the family presume her dead and Mano pins the blame on Krishna, ousting her from his house. |

Maheshwari is disclosed to be alive but she hides herself from the family, unable to face Krishna for what her son has done. Krishna and Mano decide to take divorce from each other while Harsha, who has discovered Raasi's antics, begins to distance himself from her and indulges in an extra-marital affair with their business partner Harika. Krishna and Mano are given six months to reconsider their decision by the court while Maheshwari's existence becomes known to everyone. She returns home and Krishna-Mano decide to reconcile. Krishna too has a miscarriage and her irresponsibility is cited as the reason due to which she is banished from the house. However, Krishna and Mano forgive each other while Raasi blows the cover, disclosing Harika and Harsha's extra-marital affair to the family. While Damayanti takes Raasi away, Leelavati disowns Harsha. Raasi, who blames the family for her miseries, secretly implicates Mano and Jagadish in a crime causing them to be arrested and the property is seized. Maheshwari's health deteriorates and gets hospitalized while Krishna and Leelavati, who begin to live in a rented house struggle to make ends meet and free Mano and Jagadish from the prison. Uday and Harinarayana abduct Surya and murder him. Damayanti holds Varshini responsible and ousts her from the house while Harika's ex-boyfriend Rocky, who intends to avenge her deceit bails Mano and Jagadish. |

He traps Raasi, intending to marry her while Harinarayana discovers that Krishna is his niece. He brings her and her in-lws to her mansion in the hometown, apologizing to her for the past mistakes but secretly, with Uday plans to get the property by hook or crook. Krishna brings Raasi and Damayanti to stay with them while Harsha intends to expose Raasi's misdeeds and pretends to reconcile with her; Raasi changes for the good and begins to admire Krishna while Krishna shelters a pregnant Harika until she delivers the child. Krishna and Rocky hatch a plan to expose Harika's misdeeds to Harsha when Krishna discovers that he is enacting his reconciliation with Raasi; Rocky converses with Harika about how the latter, in the name of love, took away all his property and makes her confess the evil deeds she had done to trap Harsha. Intiki Deepam Illalu (transl. wife is a light to the house) is an Indian Telugu-language drama series that airs on Star Maa starring Dhanya Deepika, Shiva Kumar, Rajashri Nair, Priyanka Chowdhary and Manoj.[1] It is a remake of the Hindi television series Saath Nibhaana Saathiya.[2] In 2021, Neema Singh replaced Priyanka Chowdhary as Raashi. The series is produced by Yepuru Srinadh and Padmin Nadella.
Plot
