Fastest Lap: Ronnie Peterson - 1:20.31
Driver Roger Williamson was killed in this race when his car crashed into the barriers, spun upside-down and caught fire. The race continued on with his burnt-out car still on the track. David Purley stopped his own race and tried, unsuccessfully, to save Williamson. Following that, he withdrew from the race rather than complete it.
