The multimodal pedagogy is meant to help students be able to express themselves more within their work. It allows them to look at their process deeper and be more invested into how their work comes out as opposed to doing the same old traditional ways. A goal of this process also includes having students be able to look at all text with the thought of multimodality.  This includes things such as books, magazines, websites, and graphic novels.

Students can look at the different ways multimodality fits that form of media or text that they’re looking at. The freedom that multimodality gives its students also gives the goal for there to be information that is similar, but tackled from different angles to help it stay fresh. For example, a student can be doing an article on the 2008 financial crisis while others do it in the form of a presentation or podcast. These techniques also help for students that are better in a specific category of multimodal media.

Background

Goals of this approach
