Amar (or Amer) Chadha-Patel (born 3 June 1986) is a British actor, director, writer, and musician. He is known for his roles in the ITV drama Beecham House (2019) and the Disney+ series Willow (2022). He is a member of the band Strong Asian Mothers and the directing collective Tom & Amar with Tom Allen.[1]

Early life

Chadha-Patel grew up between Highbury in North London and Hackney in East London, while his grandparents lived in a Punjabi Sikh community in West London.[2][3] He was 29 when he decided to go into acting.[4]

Career

The following year, he had a recurring role in the Sky Atlantic and HBO series The Third Day.

In 2021, Chadha-Patel starred in the horror film Dashcam and had small roles in episodes of the Netflix series Sex Education and Amazon Prime series The Wheel of Time. During Disney+ Day 2021, it was announced Chadha-Patel had joined the cast of the series Willow, which series premiered in 2022 and in which Chadha-Patel starred as Thraxus Boorman.[6] He has upcoming roles in the film True Love,[7] the Netflix period drama The Decameron, and the Roku series Slip.
