The match will feature the winners of the 2022–23 DFB-Pokal, Eintracht Frankfurt or RB Leipzig, and Bayern Munich, the winners of the 2022–23 Bundesliga. The winners of the DFB-Pokal typically host the match, though this is subject to final confirmation by the DFL.
Bayern Munich are the defending champions, having won the 2022 edition 5–3 against RB Leipzig.
