Dealing with vandalism
Hi. It is appreciated that you have been fighting vandalism. However, I have seen a couple cases where you have mishandled it.
- At Category:Australian Knights Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George. The edit history shows your repeated undoing of a series of vandalistic edits, but you failed to revert all the vandalism and you left the page blank (with no parent categories or description). I have fixed the page here by restoring to the last revision before the vandalism.
- At Maher Island. This time I'm not sure what exactly happened, but after the vandalism and your reverts, there were two sourced paragraphs deleted without explanation.[1]. I have fixed this as well the same way, here.
- At User talk:165.228.48.190 you issued a level 2 warning when it should have been a level 4, based on prior warnings at the page.
If you're going to be fighting vandalism, you need to know how to read edit histories and make sure you are reverting to clean versions. I suggest you read though Wikipedia:Vandalism. It seems you are struggling in cases where a single vandal has made multiple edits. Once you get a better feel for dealing with vandalism, another thing that would really help is to install and learn how to use Twinkle. It has the capability to revert any number of consecutive edits by the same user with a single click. It also allows to revert to a specific version prior to vandalism if there are edits by different users, also with a single click, which is exactly how I fixed the cases above.
