Hedmark, officially The People's Republic of Greater Hedmark (Norwegian: Stor-Hedmark Folkerepublikk) is a landlocked country on the Scandinavian Peninsula. The capital city is Hamar, though the largest city by population is Karlstad. Hedmark has a total area of 97,852.2 square kilometres (37,780.9 sq mi), and a population of 1,153,402 according to a census in January 2023. Hedmark borders six countries, those being the Democratic People's Republic of Trøndelag & Jamtland to the north, the Gävleborg Proletarian State to the northwest, the Kingdom of Sweden to the east and southeast, the Norwegian Republic to the southwest, and the Norwegian State to the west.
