Masroor Abbas Ansari (born 12 August 1975) commonly known as Haji Sahab or Molvi Sahab is a Shia Muslim cleric, scholar and religious leader of Shia Muslim in Jammu and Kashmir born on 12 August 1975 in Srinagar. He is the son of Molvi Mohammad Abbas Ansari. He is the Chairman of Jammu & Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen(JKIM) a Kashmiri nationalist Shia separatist political party which aims for Shi'a–Sunni unity in Kashmir and co-patron of Al-Abbas Relief Trust, Karan Nagar, Sringar.[1] He is a member of All Parties Hurriyat Conference.[2][3][4] He Succeeded his father Mohammad Abbas Ansari.[5]

Education

Masroor Abbas Ansari got his basic education from his family and learned Arabic and Persian. He also got his education from Kashmir University. He went Iran to join Qom Seminary for further studies.

Services

Molvi Masroor Abbas Ansari is a religious scholar and public orator as well as writer. He is the president of Jammu & Kashmir Ittihadul Muslimeen(JKIM). He was the Sub Editor of the monthly Urdu magazine "Safina" which was published from Al-Abbas Relief Trust, Government Medical College Road, Karan Nagar, Srinagar. He has wrote many books and articles in Urdu and Arabic. His some of famous books are: "Hadees Qustuntia", "Shia aur Islam" and "Molvi Mustafa Ansari"

Shia cleric and Jammu Kashmir Ithadul Muslimeen president Molvi Masroor Abbas Ansari Thursday said that Police action against peaceful mourners on and before Ashura this year is reprehensible and government claim that action was taken in view of pandemic is a blatant lie as participants were following all SOP's.[6] He is the supporter of Ashura processions in Kashmir.
