BAF Shaheen College Dhaka (Template:Lang-bn) is a co-education Bangladeshi college (grades KG-XII) established and controlled by the Bangladesh Air Force.It is managed by the Bangladesh Air Force and primarily for the children of Air Force personnel. But students from the civilian section can also study at this college.

History

The school was established on March 1, 1960, as PAF Shaheen School. Originally English-medium, Bangla-medium was introduced in parallel in 1967. BAF Shaheen High School was renamed BAF Shaheen College Dhaka when it began offering intermediate courses in 1977. Degree pass courses were opened in 1990. Since then, the college has been functioning as a degree college. The college has classes from kindergarten to Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC). The institution was established on 1 March 1960 in Jahangir Gate, Dhaka Cantonment, Dhaka, for the children of the BAF personnel. Shaheen School subsequently expanded its curriculum and facilities, accommodating more students and introducing higher grades.[1]

Hockey field

BAF Shaheen College hockey field is a hockey field in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It is the home ground for BAF Shaheen College Hockey Team. It is the only institutional hockey ground in Bangladesh to contain artificial turf. A number of national-level tournaments are held there every year. It was constructed in 2014 with a view to providing better infrastructural facilities to its hockey team and giving opportunities at the school & college level to arrange tournaments of international standard. The construction began in December 2014. It was opened at the end of that month, making it the first ever artificial hockey turf of institutional level in Bangladesh.[2][3][4][5][6]
