Carlton Gebbia (née Elizabeth; born 17 October 1973)[1] is an English actress, interior designer, and television personality. She is a cast member in the fourth season on Bravo's reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.[2]

Early life

Carlton Elizabeth, an only child,[3] was born in Guernsey, Channel Islands, on 17 October 1973.[1] She grew up all around England, before moving to South Africa at the age of 14, and then to London at the age of 18.[1]

Elizabeth grew up in a very spiritual home. Her mother was a psychic and her grandmother was a practicing pagan.[4]

Elizabeth's ancestry is extremely diverse; her biological father was Welsh, her mother was English-Irish, her grandfather was Scottish, and her grandmother was English. She is also part French.[1]

Career

Adult entertainment

During her adult entertainment career, Elizabeth was credited under the pseudonym, Carlton Lynx.[note 1]

Lynx made her adult film debut in 1994, as Raven, in Eyes of the Serpent.[5]

Lynx made her final performance in an adult film in 1998, as Joan, in The Sexperiment.[6]

Acting

Gebbia made her television debut in 1999, as Jeanine, during the fourteenth episode in the third season of Suddenly Susan.[7]

Gebbia made her film debut as Sara Carreni in the 2001 thriller Pretty When You Cry, directed by Jack N. Green, and produced by her then-husband, his parents, his brothers, and their production company, Gebbia Entertainment.[8]

Gebbia took a permanent hiatus from acting, after a majority of negative reviews for her role in the film Pretty When You Cry.[9]

Interior design

Gebbia was previously an interior architectural designer at Gebbia Custom Estates,[10] a property development company, owned by her ex-husband and his family, building high-end custom homes in Beverly Hills and Hidden Hills.[2]

Gebbia designed her own former home. The home was built by Gebbia Custom Estates, in 2009, and is located in the gated community of Beverly Ridge.[11]

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Gebbia was announced to be joining the main cast for the fourth season of Bravo's American reality television series The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on 18 September 2013.[12][13][14]

Gebbia's tagline for the season was, "In my world, money doesn’t talk, it swears."[15]

Gebbia published weekly blogs on bravotv.com, after each episode from the season had aired, between 4 November 2013 and 1 April 2014.[16]

Gebbia, along with her seasons cast, minus Glanville and Giraud, were spotted in February 2014 around the shoot of the music video for G.U.Y., a song from Artpop by Lady Gaga.[17] She acted as an instrument player in the video, which was released on 28 March 2014.[18][19]

Gebbia was fired from the series on 29 May 2014, after one season, due to her "not meshing well with the other wives."[20] On 12 December 2014, it was reported Gebbia was actually asked back to the series, but she declined.[21]

Publications

Gebbia is developing a children's book with an unusual twist, and is writing a horror script, it was revealed in 2013.[2]

Charity work

Gebbia works with Wildlife WayStation, a Los Angeles non-profit Sanctuary that raises money for exotic and wild animals.[2]

Personal life

Elizabeth married David Gebbia, a Sicilian businessman, on 19 September 1997.[3] They have three children together.[1] On 25 August 2016, two weeks after the news broke, the couple confirmed they had split, after 18 years of marriage.[22] He filed for divorce in the Los Angeles Superior Court on 28 November 2017, citing irreconcilable differences.[23] The divorce was finalised in 2018.[24]

Gebbia is very spiritual with her faith, Wicca, and identifies as a pagan witch and solidarity practitioner. She has taken traditions from Wicca and British Traditional Witchcraft to cultivate her own spiritual path. She celebrates the cycles of the sun, moon, and seasons. She is polytheistic.[1]

Gebbia's former Beverly Hills home, a 75,000 square foot Gothic-inspired mansion with five bedrooms and six bathrooms, designed by her and built by Gebbia Custom Estates in 2009, was listed for $22 million in May 2018.[25][26] In August 2020, it was reported to have sold for $13.9 million, by real estate agents, Josh and Matt Altman, from Bravo's reality television series, Million Dollar Listing Los Angeles.[27]

Gebbia currently resides in Miami, Florida.[28]
