The 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship is a planned motor racing championship for Formula One cars. This will be the 75th running of the Formula One World Championship.[a] It is recognised by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the governing body of international motorsport, as the highest class of competition for open-wheel racing cars. The championship is scheduled to be contested over a record twenty-four Grands Prix held around the world. It will begin in March and will end in December.
Drivers and teams are scheduled to compete for the titles of World Drivers' Champion and World Constructors' Champion, respectively.

Team changes
Alfa Romeo will end their partnership with Sauber and leave Formula One as the Sauber team prepares to become the Audi works team in 2026.[3][23]
AlphaTauri is scheduled to be rebranded amidst a management restructure.[5]
List of planned races
The 2024 calendar comprises a record twenty-four Grands Prix.[24]
Calendar expansion and changes
- The Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled to return to the calendar after being cancelled for four years due to difficulties presented by the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.[24]
- The Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, cancelled in 2023 due to flooding in the area, is scheduled to return to the calendar.[24]
- The Russian Grand Prix was under contract to feature on the 2024 calendar. However, the Grand Prix had its contract terminated in 2022 in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.[25]
Notes
- ^ In the history of Formula One, regulations were first introduced during the 1946 Grand Prix season. These were adopted for every race in 1948, and were formally organised into a championship in 1950.
