Celinetrann, Mashavod, anyone else working on this page:
I am a little concerned that some of the sources might be talking about Bloating (=gas in the GI system) rather than water retention (which produces the sort of sudden weight gain that is always worrisome for someone at risk for heart failure or kidney disease, but does necessarily affect only the abdomen).
For example, the primary source on 8 weeks of aerobic exercise says "Bloating (is any abnormal gas swollen, or increase in diameter of the abdominal area)", which means that it's not about water retention. The source does mention water retention, but it doesn't say that exercise necessarily works: "Aganoffy considers aerobic exercise ineffective in water retention in athletic and non-athlete women [31]. While Stoddard et al. Showed positive effects of aerobic exercise on the clinical symptoms of PMS, such as pain and water retention [3]" – a divided opinion that does not align with the claim that's in the article presently.
Can you all please double check to make sure that all the sources used in this article are specifically about water retention and not gas retention? WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:27, 30 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I made some edits to direct the topic back to water retention. I removed the original sentence and added some additional references to focus more on water retention. Mashavod (talk) 18:12, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For example, the "Society and Culture" section recognizes that various cultures may opt to acknowledge and address premenstrual water retention differently.[reply]

The non-pharmacological treatment improves the articles and is achieved. However, there are two obsolete sources that are identified. Please remove if possible, thank you.
