Forza Motorsport (2023 video game): Difference between revisions

Forza Motorsport is an upcoming sim racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Xbox Game Studios.[6] It will be the thirteenth main installment in the Forza series. It will be released on Windows and Xbox Series X/S.[7] Although it is the eighth Forza Motorsport title, succeeding Forza Motorsport 7, it will be a reboot for the titular sub-series, dropping the sequential numbering from past entries' titles and will use the new Xbox Series X and Series S consoles to render higher definition graphics than its predecessors.[8][4] Forza Motorsport is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2023.[9][10]
Gameplay
Forza Motorsport is a sim racing video game.[6][11][12] At launch, Forza Motorsport is projected to have more than 500 vehicles and 800 upgrades. Approximately 80 vehicles from all eras and racing vehicle kinds are among the vehicles that have been so far announced.[13] While over 100 of these will be new to the series, many of them will be returning from earlier Forza Motorsport games.[14]
The game will include elements such as ray tracing in real-time on the track, tire wear, dynamic time of day, damage model changes with better-defined damage, and dirt buildup. There will be other effects, such as "animated track life", "physically based lighting and volumetric fog effects", and "a fully procedural cloud system".[15] The game also includes a single-player career mode and several online multiplayer modes. At launch, Forza Motorsport will have four DLC packs available to players.[16]
Development
Forza Motorsport was first announced at Xbox Showcase in 2020. The Forza Motorsport release date was previously set for 'Spring 2023', but has moved to a late 2023 launch window, with a current release date set for October 10, 2023.[17][18] In an interview with GamesRadar, Chris Esaki, Creative Director at Turn 10 Studios, emphasized the team's commitment to "pushing the boundaries of realism" in Forza Motorsport, and described the game as the "most technically advanced racing game ever made".[19]
One of the most unique features of Forza Motorsport is that it will have blind driving assists, a feature not seen in previous titles. Brandon Cole, an accessibility consultant, has worked extensively with Turn 10 with respect to this facet of the game.[citation needed]

Surprisingly, the game isn't called Forza Motorsport 8. Forza Motorsport's creative director Chris Esaki admitted that there's some confusion regarding the game's name, and clarified that the eight has been dropped altogether. 'I just wanted to reaffirm that the name of the game is Forza Motorsport,' said Esaki. 'There's no sequential eight after the title. It really is an all-new Forza Motorsport experience.'
