I think it would be appropriate to explicitly mention the Second World War at least somewhere
Was she laid down on 14 November 1936 or 3 January 1937?
"as they laid their minefields in the North Sea and English Channel in July" main text dates this at earliest to August

Why was the attempt unsuccessful?
Move long ton link to first mention
Not an expert in this field, but a perusal of London Naval Treaty suggests Germany wasn't part of it?
