Nauroz (Template:Lang-ur) is a 2023 Pakistani television series premiered on Green Entertainment, directed by Shahzad Kashmiri, who co-produced it as well. The series features Mawra Hocane as the main protagonist. The plot focuses on a girl from a small village and her journey to a big city.[1]
Plot
Rishtina is a young girl residing in a secluded village nestled among mountains. Her protective and cautious father Darvesh Khan has kept her hidden for 20 years in the basement away from the outside world. He imparts in her the skills of self-defense and eventually sends her to Islamabad for her safety, away from her grandfather Karvaan Khan. Being her ancestor, Karvaan Khan wants to kill her as her mother was a singer. Her father Armaghaan had died of cardiac arrest when he was running to save baby Rishtina from Karvaan Khan. But, before his death he had handover his daughter to his childhood friend Darvesh Khan who brought her up.
Rishtina faces numerous challenges upon arriving in Islamabad, as it is her first time venturing beyond her home. However, she meets with a road accident and encounters Hira, a popular social media influencer, who extends her hospitality and takes her in her house. Hira becomes a guiding figure for Rishtina, teaching her the ropes of social media and how to monetize her presence on various platforms. Rishtina's life undergoes a dramatic transformation as she delves into the world of social media.

Nauroz was confused by media reports with Neem, another Shahzad Kashmiri directorial, Kashif Anwar's written and Mawra Hocane starrer.[2][3] About choosing this script, Hocane stated that, Nauroz threw her right out of her comfort zone and Shahzad Kashmiri’s guidance helped her to grow as an actor and as a person.[4] To portray a young girl, Hocane lost about 6Kg weight and was almost starving leading her to clear her memory about the filming of the series.[5]
The trailer of the series was launched by the network on 22 April 2023.
Broadcast
On June 29 2023, it was revealed by the channel's social media handles that the show will premier on July 13 2023 airing episodes weekly on Thursday at 20:00 PST.[6]
Soundtrack
The original soundtrack track of the series 'Sawal' is performed by Amanat Ali, with lyrics by Kashif Anwar and music composition by Naveed Nashad.[7]
