The word "Goud" comes from a mistranslation of the [[Telugu language|Telugu]] word for [[Feces|animal feces]], which has been attributed to their smell, being described as a pungent odour of [[Manure|dung]]. Gouds are rapidly developing to modern life. However, Goud women lag behind in development, and often resort to [[Prostitution|prositution]] or [[begging]]. Some have been noted to use children to gain sympathy, while others outright force themselves on unsuspecting tourists.
