The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on September 12, 2023.[2] Nominees were revealed on August 8.[3] Taylor Swift leads the nominations with eight, followed by SZA with six nominations and Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, and Sam Smith each with five nominations.[4] Shakira is set to receive the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, becoming the first Latin American artist to receive the highest honor.[5]
