Castlevania: Nocturne is an upcoming American adult animated dark fantasy action streaming television series created and written by Clive Bradley and led by producer Kevin Kolde for Netflix. A spin-off to the Castlevania animated series, it is based on the video game series of the same by Konami and adapted from the 1993 entry Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and its sequel Symphony of the Night. Set in 1792, during the French Revolution, it follows Richter Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont family.

Castlevania: Nocturne is scheduled to premiere on September 28, 2023.

Premise

Richter Belmont, a descendant of the Belmont vampire-hunting clan, must join forces with an unlikely crew of hunters and magicians to prevent an apocalypse during the French Revolution.[1]

Voice cast

Production

In April 16, 2021, Deadline reported that Netflix was planning a spin-off series set in the Castlevania universe, following the conclusion of its original animated series, with a new cast of characters.[2][3] Set during the French Revolution, the series would focus on Richter Belmont, a descendant of Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades, and Maria Renard.[4][5] Kevin Kolde and Clive Bradley will serve as show-runners and executive producers under Kolde's Project 51 Productions banner. Powerhouse Animation will return as primary animation studio under which Sam and Adam Deats will be directing.[6]

In June 10, 2022, during Netflix's Geeked Week virtual event, it was announced that the series is titled Castlevania: Nocturne.[7] The voice cast of the series was revealed on July 27, 2023.[8][9]

Release

Castlevania: Nocturne is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on September 28, 2023.[10][11] It will be screened the day before its release on the upcoming Netflix virtual showcase Drop 1.[12]
