Produced by Yash Raj Films, film is the sequel to War (2019) and the sixth installment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Hrithik Roshan, Kiara Advani and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. with Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Alia Bhatt in cameo appearances.
Siddharth Anand, writter and director of first film confirmed that he was working on the script of its sequel and had plans to convert the film into a franchise, depending on the audience response to the film.[1] In March 2023, a sequel was confirmed entitled War 2 and Ayan Mukerji will direct the sequel replacing Anand who will now direct Tiger Vs Pathaan.[2]

Production
Actress Rani Mukerji has forced Aditya Chopra to hire her paternal cousin Ayan Mukerji as the director for War 2, replacing Anand who will now direct Tiger Vs Pathaan starring Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan as Tiger and Pathaan in lead roles.[3]
