Nils Gilman is an academic and author who currently serves as Vice President of Programs at the Berggruen Institute, a think tank in Los Angeles. He holds a BA, an MA, and a doctorate in history from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author, among others, of Mandarins of the Future: Modernization Theory in Cold War America.[1]
