Inauguration of Donald Trump
The first line from the Inauguration of Donald Trump is presented with bias and without proof or any future knowledge. As shown below in the quoted text, the texts state the only term of Donald Trump.
"The inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th president of the United States marked the commencement of the only term of Donald Trump as president and Mike Pence as vice president."
Even if Joe Biden becomes the president in January of 2021, this does not prevent President Trump from running and possibly winning in and being sworn in as president in 2025. President Trump can run for President as many times as he likes as long as he has not served two terms. In 2024 Donald Trump would be the same age as Joe Biden is now and could run again. ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tj1of1 (talk • contribs) 04:14, 9 November 2020 (UTC)
Lawrence 979, in an effort to WP:AVOIDEDITWAR I am bringing this discussion here, rather than reverting your edits again. The revert was for introducing the phrase "only term" and not for the language you wrote on my User talk page. As noted in the above discussion, Donald Trump can run again and therefore it is factually inaccurate to say that his 2016 inauguration was his "only" inauguration.— Schistocyte (talk) 19:58, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
I would be in favor of a more neutral phrase, like maybe "first and so far only" and maybe provide a link to the affected individuals part of the 22nd Amendment page. redlegsfan21 (talk) 16:53, 9 January 2021 (UTC)
How on Earth is it inaccurate to state that his 2017 inauguration was his only inauguration, when 'it is'?! The fact that it may eventually not be his only inauguration is immaterial; at present, the statement is accurate, and the handy thing about Wikipedia is that if the statement ever becomes inaccurate, it can be edited in a fraction of a second to reflect that fact. Whether an editor hopes he will win another term, hopes he will not, or doesn't care either way, presently 2017 represents his only inauguration, just as 1977 represents Jimmy Carter's only inauguration despite the fact that he's still alive and could conceivably choose to run again and be re-elected.
