Noah Patrick Ylagan (е̄-Login; born April 2, 1996) is a Filipino-Mexican-American, American football coach and former college football player, Is currently coaching at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
Early years
Ylagan attended Montessori schools, and Our Lady of Grace Chapel catholic school in El Cajon, California. They have sports programs to compete against other parochial schools.
He excelled in Basketball, Flag Football, then competitive travel Baseball with the Encinitas Reds[1], and club American Soccer with the San Diego Surf[2].
At 11 years old, he wanted to try tackle football. He played in Pop Warner for the late coach Savaii Seau[3], the older brother to the late, Pro Football Hall of Famer, Junior Seau. Seau taught him to love the game, and that hard work would always pay off.
After graduating from catholic school, he attended West Hills High School in Santee, CA. There he honed his skills in Football, Track and field, and Baseball.
At graduation, he was a four-time letter winner for the Wolfpack of West Hills High School, (two in football, one in baseball, one in track). Awarded Team’s Offensive Player of the Year in Football 2013 season. Graduated in the Spring of 2014. Final stats for West Hills High School Football[4]

2014 Season
Ylagan received an offer to play football at Grossmont College in El Cajon, California as a defensive back, and was redshirted in the 2014 season.
Briar Cliff University was in contact with Ylagan. They reviewed Ylagan's Recruiting Video.[5] In the Spring of 2015, then offered him a scholarship to play running back. He accepted and enrolled at Briar Cliff University, Sioux City, Iowa, and played college football for the Briar Cliff Chargers football, division NAIA. He made his debut in the GPAC in the fall of 2015

As a Freshman, Former BCU Head Coach Tom Rethman recognized Ylagan's hard running style. Rethman installed Ylagan as the #2 running back as a freshman behind Senior running back Mitch Heikes[7]. Heikes was an example of hard work, encouragement, and leadership during his freshman year. Ylagan played in nine games for the Chargers. He was second on the team in rushing with 247 yards and two touchdowns on 61 carries, averaging 4.0 yards per carry. He racked up a season-high 125 yards on 15 carries and scored two TDs against Dordt University. He also had eight receptions for 88 yards.

As a Sophomore, Ylagan competed in 11 games for Briar Cliff. Gained 681 yards on 192 carries to go with a touchdown...hauled in 21 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown rushing and (3) receiving. Attempted two passes, and accounted for three solo tackles. He punted 40 times for 1,298 yards. He kicked three for five, on field goals with the longest made coming from 30 yards out against Midland University.

As a Junior, Former BCU Head Coach Dennis Wagner took over the football program, and installed his new offensive line, including a 6ft - 6 inch, 400lbs offensive lineman, Kenny Trezvant. He was there to protect the QuarterBack's blindside and make holes for the running backs. Ylagan was named 2nd team All-GPAC Runningback, where he rewrote the Charger’s record books this season as he became the first 1000-yard rusher in program history. Finishing the year with 1,334 rushing yards. Although their season record was winless (0-10), Ylagan also set school records for the most carries in a game (41), rushing yards in a game (265), most 100-yard games in a season (6), and most rushing touchdowns in a season (8). Ylagan had two 200-yard rushing performances on the year, running for 265 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries at Dakota Wesleyan. Carried the ball 41 times for 218 yards and a score at Hastings College. He averaged 121.3 rushing yards and 5.1 yards per carry. With the help of Ylagan, Briar Cliff piled up a school record of 2,013 team rushing yards for the season, breaking the old school record of 1,337 rushing yards.[10]

As a Senior, Ylagan played in all 11 games for Briar Cliff and earned his 2nd 1000-yard season. He was named second-team All-GPAC Running back for the 2nd time. Rushed for 1,125 yards and six TDs. Also caught nine passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns and threw a 56-yard touchdown pass. He was a leading factor in the team breaking a school record with 2,069 team rushing yards on the season. Ylagan contributed to Briar Cliff University football’s first winning season in school history. Finished his career with the Blue and Gold as the top rusher in program history with 3,387 yards and 17 touchdowns. Briar Cliff University Football Record books[13] Top performance came against Dordt University with 199 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The local news publication SiouxlandProud.com ran a story on his quest to break the all-time rushing record.[14] The local ABC-TV news did a news segment on The story of Noah Ylagan Closing in on Career Rushing Mark [15]on ABC KCUA-TV Sioux City. participating in the International Scouting Showcase in Myrtle Beach, S.C
