David Ho (scientist)David Ho – I am far more of an art person than a science person, and even to me, it's extremely obvious who the primary topic is. In terms of Wikipedia page views, it's not even close. In terms of Google, 249 unique hits for the AIDS researcher [1], 166 unique hits for Vancouver's David Ho [2], 163 for the artist [3]. Regarding last mulitple edits by anonymous IP

your last edit overwrite a sentence which I had take effort to put a neutral <<Asian American from Taiwan>>....

you have been vandalising without vaild reason (in edit summary) for 4 times.....

there are some people out there who would said he's Taiwanese American, but since there are dispute among some Pro-communism Waishengren who regarded themselves as Chinese-Americans, especially if they are Civil War refugees from mainland china, I had put it as neutral <<Asian American from Taiwan>> becuase:

  • He is born there in Taiwan (Had he born in America, that would qualify as Chinese American, but he's born in Taiwan
  • He doesn't identify himself with Communist China (PRC)
  • Some Citizen of ROC Taiwan regard themselves as ROCers but that would confuse these ROCers and mistaken as PRCers
  • Furthermore, since David Ho is born in Taiwan, labelling him as "Chinese-American" would mean outright foraying into politics of legitimacy between or legitimacy of one of Two Chinas
  • Lastly, for the same reason he's born in Taiwan, calling him "Chinese-American", implying he's born in Mainland China is outright lie.
  • For the record, I tag 2600:1700:438A:C800:A14C:A694:7FF:7D62 (talk) with Level 1 Vandalism warning....even though this anon IP had vandalised 4 time already.

Cat12zu3 (talk) 08:15, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Update: the whole IP range 2600:1700::/32 was just blocked for vast amount of vandalism.

Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:40, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that the sources do not use the term 'Asian American', far less 'Asian American from Taiwan'. It is not a story of some people out there who would said he's Taiwanese American, it is what the sources almost unanimously use. The two first sources use the term 'Asian American' in their title (to include mainland Chinese, Indian and other), but in the description of Ho they all say 'Taiwanese American'. Wikipedia goes by the sources, so that is how we have to describe him. End of story.
On another note, it seems very strange to use most of the lede to discuss his early years and education. I will move that to a new section 'Early life' ans just summarise it in the lede. --T*U (talk) 06:14, 24 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Another anon IP vandalised without vaild reason or discuss at talk page again, for the 5th time

2600:1700:438a:c800:1522:11f1:f1a6:54b9 (talk)
I tag that anon IP with Level 2 Vandalism warning, even though already it's 5th time anon IP had vandalised it.

Marital & personal status

I found out that Wc2713 made a changes about his family, claimed David Ho no longer had [Susan Koh as his wife] and he had a "new partner and a new child", see Special:Permalink/943744781 and [chinese lang wiki 58493274]. Wc2713 made those changes without citing source at all, none at all.

So far, I tried to look for evidence to that marital/relationship allegation, both english and chinese, but so far none. Even in [chinese lang wiki, they disputed] David Ho "new girlfriend and new child", which Wc2713 also didn't provide vaild source. [Here are the edits in chinese lang wiki] So I'm putting it back to "Susan Koh" Cat12zu3 (talk) 11:23, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Cat12zu3 (talk) 11:25, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Wc2713 allegation is that he have a partner & a new child. Both allegations have no reliable source cited and [a dispute was tagged in chinese lang wiki]. Cat12zu3 (talk) 11:51, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
(Also found out that marrieddivorce.com uses Time Magazine materials, from which I found out about discrepancy on David Ho wife/children and alleged girlfriend/child.
(marrieddivorce.com doesn't looked like a Reliable source becuase it ["solely and exclusively owns all rights in and on the materials on the websites including but not limited to all the contents"] despite giving no credit to copyrighted materials (Time Magazine) and some are glaring incorrect like "Ho was the fourth scientist to identify the cause of AIDS" (It had been identified already), some are misleading and some phrases are empty words. Hence remove marrieddivorce.com source.

Wc2713 (talk)....Wow....unbelievable....after lay dormant for 2 years, Wc2713 edit with Wc2713's allegations without providing any source at all, let alone reliable source. Cat12zu3 (talk) 18:41, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just tagged 1st warning to Wc2713 (talk) --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 18:55, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
And I noticed also Wc2713 misuse minor edit --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 19:02, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wc2713 (talk) edit back Wc2713's unsourced allegations and misuse minor edit again. Warned Wc2713 2nd time. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 19:16, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If, as what Daviddaiho (talk) (and probably Wc2713 (talk)) said in 1182013326, claim as himself David Ho (he said "check with Columbia University Medical Center, my employer"), one wouldn't be so sneaky to use use...abuse Minor Edits that was for spelling error or change url-status to default link to archive webpage from dead main webpage...those minor edits that is not meant for changing the content. These unsourced personal, really personal allegations. Looks like a smear campaign. Cat12zu3 (talk) 16:43, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Tangledfruit32 (Talk) is back again with same unfounded allegations.Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:19, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I had tried to find these allegations both in english and chinese but so far I havn't found such verified sources and evidences. Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:21, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In chinese wikipedia, these unfounded allegations are still there, which is [still disputed]. (I have not make any contribution to chinese lang wiki since chinese, as my 2nd language, is so-so.) Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:26, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
At least 何大一 chinese lang wiki that dispute tag is still there.(I have not make any contribution to chinese lang wiki since chinese, as my 2nd language, is so-so.) Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:33, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I found out Wc2713 1st edit, 2nd edit, and thereafter subsequent edits didn't give any verified source at all. --- Cat12zu3 (talk) 07:27, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I also just found out Wc2713's 2nd edit deliberately remove legitimate reference points (Hence I just now add back the references), and add legitimate statments without cited sources and most importantly also add libelous statements without verified sources too. That is not just hearsay (per in chinese wiki dispute tag) but sneaky....GGSS if you know chinese recursive idiom (it's not choice word) Cat12zu3 (talk) 08:47, 27 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just found out the very 1st edit the allegation is a partner, in the lastest edit and the unverified PDF the same allegation is a spouse.... Cat12zu3 (talk) 08:26, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Wc2713 (talk) How do we know that PDF you provide is really from him?

Many of your behavior is either sneaky ( abuse minor edits, personal/marital statments without any citations (why didn't cite in the first place? "finally" now you provide citation albeit unverified source), without any verified reliable source), evasive (creating multiple accounts) or downright deceptive (posing as Special:Contributions/Daviddaiho).

One himself/herself (only himself/herself not WP:Hearsay 3rd party) could openly make public about his/her new relationships / family status, but so far have seen any of it. I don't really want to say this to encourage that an accuse would also make that allegations openly/publicy in media, and for that allegations, are just that, allegations. That allegations in media added as allegatuons and not replaced.

Cat12zu3 (talk) 03:02, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If David Ho really wants that to be updated, he can, only himself, identify himself and mention a request by sending an email to info-en@wikimedia.org. Do not send copies of identity documents unless requested. If he send the email from his work email address that should be sufficient. (Paraphrasing from Helpdesk by 331dot) Cat12zu3 (talk) 07:08, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if that alleged David Ho personal/family status is true. Any changes has to come from David Ho himself.

I had seen [Columbia Univ ADARC staff] [(archived)] about Wendy Chen.

But common sense wouldn't tag minor edits when changing the content, even the meaning of a content, regardless of whether tech-savvy or not, or older than Gen-X or not. That would be deceptive at all.

Becuase of misusing minor edits, I still wary and can't be sure that both Wc2713 and Daviddaiho accounts indeed belong to [Wendy Chen] [(archived)] and David Ho. Can't be sure.

Because of lack of info publicly, including ADARC official website, or even reliable news sources, and both wiki accounts lack of verified sources...I'm not sure if that alleged David Ho personal/family status is true. Any changes has to come from David Ho himself.

So for now, I remove David Ho's spouse and children, unless David Ho can comes forward and identify/verified himself to update about his family. Any changes has to come from David Ho himself.
