The Pothigai Superfast Express is an overnight Superfast train service operated between Chennai Egmore and Sengottai.

From November 1,2023 it operate with Electric Locomotive. ROYAPURAM WAP7 30357 is the First Electric Locomotive to pull Pothigai express upto Sengottai after electrification.

Route

The service traverses via Villupuram, Trichy, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Sivakasi, Rajapalayam and Sankarankovil on the Southern Railway zone of the Indian Railways.^[1]^[2]^[3]

Schedule

The service numbered 12661 starts daily departing Chennai Egmore for Sengottai, and train number 12662 in the opposite direction.
