ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:43, 29 November 2022 (UTC)

Thanks for the wonderful picture
I really appreciate this edit. When I was working the article up to GA I was disappointed at the quality of images available, and the new shot you took is wildly better. Thanks for the photography! ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:17, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
- You’re welcome. Glad I could help. :-) APK whisper in my ear 20:09, 12 May 2023 (UTC)
Hi. Can you do me (and other admins) a favor and clarify the source of the copyvio? You seem to have included the URL for the tool you used to determine that it is a copyvio instead of the url where the copyrighted material was taken from. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 17:58, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- @ONUnicorn:, sorry about that. I believe it was this site. It looks like there have been several edits since I tagged it, so it might be ok now? APK whisper in my ear 18:04, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think it's ok now. ~ ONUnicorn(Talk|Contribs)problem solving 18:09, 16 May 2023 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Paul Johnson (entrepreneur)
Hello APK. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Paul Johnson (entrepreneur), a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article has sources dating to after 2017, when the article was deleted previously. Thank you. BangJan1999 16:16, 26 May 2023 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for reverting. It was in fact an exercise for my students and not trolling ;) Magioladitis (talk) 09:17, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- Oops. :-/ Sorry about that. APK whisper in my ear 09:19, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
- No worries. The task was "create an account and leave me a message" It turns Wikipedia encourages people to just leave barnstars even if they don't know what is this about :D -- Magioladitis (talk) 09:23, 17 July 2023 (UTC)
Faith Ringgold
Hi, just flagging that I removed the fair use image you added to the Faith Ringgold article. A fair use image of that quilt painting already exists on English Wikipedia, currently in use at the article for The American Collection. 19h00s (talk) 11:39, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Also, love that other people are invested in sharing visual representations of art, even if we have to reduce everything in size per Wikipedia policy. But I would gently suggest that when you upload images, you add visual descriptions to the image descriptions. One of the main uses of these images, from my perspective, is to give readers a visual reference to aid in their understanding of the artist or artist's style. But blind and low-vision readers cannot experience the images without a description to aid their screen-reader. Even a really simple stylistic description is more useful than just a title and author, as it gives blind readers more of a chance to understand the information provided. Again, love that you're contributing images to Wikipedia, always grateful to see others doing that work. Thank you! 19h00s (talk) 11:50, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
The file File:American Collection -4- Jo Baker's Bananas.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Duplicate image - fair use image of this painting already exists on English Wikipedia, for use in the American Collection article: File:Jo Baker's Bananas, 1997, Ringgold at NMWA 2023.jpeg
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 19h00s (talk) 11:43, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
