Colin Arturo Strickland (born November 7, 1986) is an American bicycle racer specializing in gravel racing and fixed gear criteriums. He first became known for his wins in the Red Hook Crit series, before finding further success at gravel races like Unbound Gravel.

Early life and early career

Colin Strickland was born in 1986 in Johnson City, Texas, and grew up on a farm. [1] By his twenties he had picked up cycling as a form of transportation. His first experience with bicycle racing was competing in an Alleycat at the 2010 North American Handmade Bike Show, a race that he won. [2]

In 2019 Strickland rose in prominence by winning the Unbound Gravel 200. While already known as a gravel racer from winning the Gravel Worlds in 2017 and 2018, his victory at Unbound was recognized due to the presence of several current UCI World Tour professional riders. His sudden rise to broader cycling stardom even led to getting a contract offer from You have called {{Contentious topics}}. You probably meant to call one of these templates instead:

Alerting users

  • {{alert/first}} ({{Contentious topics/alert/first}}) is used, on a user's talk page, to "alert", or draw a user's attention, to the contentious topics system if they have never received such an alert before. In this case, this template must be used for the notification.
  • {{alert}} ({{Contentious topics/alert}}) is used, on a user's talk page, to "alert", or draw a user's attention, to the fact that a specific topic is a contentious topic. It may only be used if the user has previously received any contentious topic alert, and it can be replaced by a custom message that conveys the contentious topic designation.
  • {{alert/DS}} ({{Contentious topics/alert/DS}}) is used to inform editors that the old "discretionary sanctions" system has been replaced by the contentious topics system, and that a specific topic is a contentious topic.
  • {{Contentious topics/aware}} is used to register oneself as already aware that a specific topic is a contentious topic.
