Unlike its predecessor, Rogers Monday Night Hockey focuses on the statistical side of hockey and uses the new NHL player and puck tracking system to give fans a more in-depth look into the game. However, it also pays homage to Hometown Hockey by giving a free viewing party to watch the game at a different Canadian city that it comes too. |

Rogers Monday Night Hockey is the branding of Sportsnet's Monday night broadcasts of the National Hockey League (NHL) which began in the 2022–23 NHL season, replacing Rogers Hometown Hockey which had aired from 2014 to 2022.
History
On June 28, 2022, Rogers Communications announced that it would be canceling its Hometown Hockey program after 8 years on the air and that Sportsnet would replace it with a new brand for its Monday night broadcasts of the NHL.[1]
Then, on October 17, one day before its first broadcast, Sportsnet announced the new package would be called Rogers Monday Night Hockey and debut with the Toronto Maple Leafs going against the Arizona Coyotes.[2][3]
