Costa Serena will be the newest cruise ship of the Costa Cruises fleet, and has been characterized by the line as its flagship. She is expected to commence her maiden voyage on May 26,2007. The name Serena was intended to symbolize harmony and serenity. The ship is under construction at Sestri Ponente. Her sister ship, the Costa Concordia was launched last year. The two ships are the largest and longest ships in the Costa Cruises fleet.
