Henry John Rhode was born in Mossel Bay on 8 February 1923 to Henry J. Rhode and Magdalena Draai (nee Gelderblom) He had one sister, Hester Rhode (1924-2018) Nikolas Scholtz on 14 December 1946. Henry's father died young and Magdalena remarried to Frederick Draai on 16 April 1929. They had children of their own. Henry moved to Worcester in the 1940s in search of work. He got a job as an assistant at the supermarket Ok Bazaars. There he met Mary Magdalena Lehman.Their first child Stanley was born in 1949. They got married on 2 |
