Togekiss (トゲキッス, Togekissu, Togekiss in original Japanese language versions) are one of the 493 fictional species of Pokémon creatures from the Pokémon media franchise. Togekiss is famous for being the evolved form of Togetic, a Pokémon from a previous generation and for appearing in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

The name Togekiss is derived from the Japanese toge, meaning spike; and the English word kiss. Its English name is the same as its Japanese name.

Biological characteristics

Togekiss resembles a moderately sized bird covered with white down. It has a crest similar to its earlier forms Togepi and Togetic, with blue and red feathers. Along its chest are spots resembling small red and blue triangles. Its overall shape resembles that of stealth aircraft, with a sleek, aerodynamic form for flight, like a stealth bomber. Overall, Togekiss's appearance resembles a fully grown dove.

This Pokémon is said to not appear where arguments and disagreements occur. As a result, it has not been seen for quite some time.

In the video games

Togekiss evolves from Togetic by using the Light Stone, introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. Like most Pokémon that evolve from stones, it's natural moves are limited. However, Togetic and Togepi can learn moves that Togekiss can't.

Togekiss has high special attack, speed, and an impressive move compatibility with TMs and via breeding, which makes it an ideal special sweeper.
