Question from DBrown_SPS (03:01, 29 October 2023)
Hey, Gold. I have recently made edits about the Hate Content & Hateful Conduct policy on Spotify and its articles. I don't think I did a good job or seemed to be correct. I added Tay-K and Kodak Black cause I thought they were no longer on the platform's playlist until June 1, 2018. Can you look at it please and thank you? If so, can you maintain the edits and see if it's good? Thanks so much. I did pretty bad. Darrion "Beans" Brown 🙂 (my talk page / my sandbox) 03:01, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

Question from Carbondaters24 (15:13, 20 November 2023)
Hello what is a portal on Wikipedia? --Carbondaters24 (talk) 15:13, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Carbondaters24 you can find out detailed information about portals here: Wikipedia:Portal. Long-standing Wikipedia editors have quite divergent views regarding portals and they have been subject to a lot of internal debate. The project I'm mostly involved with maintains a portal: Portal:Organized Labour. Feel free to ask more if you have the need. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 21:31, 20 November 2023 (UTC)

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

Hello, if i am editing somewhere with numbered columns, how do i add something straight to the top without disturbing the other columns? --Amogus123454321 (talk) 00:02, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Amogus123454321 - I'm not exactly clear what you are trying to do. Are you wanting to add a cell to a column in a table? Are you able to point me to the article that you are trying to edit? Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 00:18, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

Question from Magarac12 (19:48, 22 December 2023)
Hi there! I'm still quite new at this. Can you please tell me how I can join particular communities dedicated to my interests? Also, should I put that I have degrees (BA, MA, PhD) in certain fields? I saw some people have badges for that, but I don't know if it is important here. --Magarac12 (talk) 19:48, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hi @Magarac12 welcome! Probably the simplest way to connect with other editors in your areas of interest is two fold: first, through WikiProjects - you can find a listing of projects here: Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Directory. I'm most active in a project dedicated to organized labour, and some others, which are shown on my user page. Some projects are not active, some can be very active, it's a real mixture, but I've found them to be particlarly useful. Feel free to let me know your interest areas and I can direct you more specifically if you would like.
- The other way to connect with editors in your interest areas is to look at artices of interest to you and see who has worked on them via the article history. Although some editors work across many fields and others can stay within single areas.
- In terms of what one puts on a user page, have a read of this WP:UPYES - it's pretty open what one can include, but my principle is to give other editors information about what kind of skills and experience (and views) I have in relation to building this encyclopaedia. So, yes, doctor :) ... I do think informing others we have academic qualifications is a useful thing to convey. I also recommend to all editors that they maintain anonymity - I don't include idenifying information. Some editors feel comfortable revealing their identity, but given the public nature of one's work here, there are good reasons to not make one's identity a focus of attention.
- Feel free to leave me any more questions you have. Regards, Goldsztajn (talk) 20:51, 22 December 2023 (UTC)
