Other types
I've found mention of other (notable sub-) types:
- stick magazine
- capsule magazine, Krag-Jorgensen rifle
- horizontal magazine, Fabrique Nationale FN P90
Next one is associated with revolvers, but to reload it one must remove the cylinder with the chambers so it's theoretically possible to have other cylinders loaded in the pocket. Also eventhough associated with revolvers I've came accross it being called a magazine.
- turret magazine - (essentially) drums where the cartridges are placed facing radially outwards. There were two types of turret weapons developed: horizontal turrent firearms (cochrane revolver) and vertical turret firearms (noel revolver). there was also one popular palm gun that used it.
- harmonica magazine, it also could be (theoretically) detached from the gun and loaded; J.M. Browning harmonica rifle
- "chain magazine", Guycot 40-shot Chain Pistol and Treeby Chain Gun Setenzatsu.2 (talk) 23:08, 1 December 2020 (UTC)
- horseshoe magazine
- snail-drum magazine Setenzatsu.2 (talk) 12:14, 26 October 2021 (UTC)
