Genealogy project need your vote for creation of an email list

Newsletter Nr 3 for WikiProject Genealogy (and Wikimedia genealogy project on Meta) Participation: This is the third newsletter sent by mass mail to members in Wikipedia:WikiProject Genealogy, to everyone who voted a support for establishing a potential Wikimedia genealogy project on meta, and anyone who during the years showed an interest in genealogy on talk pages and likewise. (To discontinue receiving Project Genealogy newsletters, please see below) Request: In order to improve communication between genealogy interested wikipedians, as well as taking new, important steps towards a creation of a new project site, we need to make communication between the users easier and more effective. At Mail list on meta is discussed the possibility of creating a genealogy-related Wikimedia email list. In order to request the creation of such a list, we need your voice and your vote. In order to create a new list, we need to put a request it in Phabricator, and add a link to reasoning/explanation of purpose, and link to community consensus. Therefore we need your vote for this now, so we can request the creation of the mail list. We can revert test edits

It's my opinion that AGF is for suckers. When you see test edits on talk pages like Help talk:Referencing for beginners I think you're safe to just revert as vandalism and warn the IP involved. Responding "not done" just fills up the archive needlessly. I appreciate you being active at Help talk:Referencing for beginners and simply reverting is a better use of your time. I see you're coming up on fifteen years as a Wikipedian, which is a hell of a thing. I can send you an invite in April if you like. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:27, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

Since almost all my edits have been reverting vandalism, sometimes I feel that being too much of a hammer makes everything look like nails, and that translates to possibly being too wary of biting a new account that ended up never making another edit. Agree I could probably lean more towards reverting nonsensical requests, thanks for the feedback. What's this about an invite? Cannolis (talk) 19:48, 13 January 2024 (UTC)

WP:BDC recognizes birthdays and anniversaries of our editor base as part of WikiProject retention. I added you to the calendar. In the past I've handed out membership invites on behalf of WP:TYS, WP:FTYS, and WP:XXYS since many editors really like the appreciation but some folks find the annual user talk page messages annoying, which is why I ask.
