Box.net is an online storage, file hosting, and file sharing service that allows individuals to access their files online and share them.
History
Box.net was originally founded in 2005 as a college business project with a vision of "making physical storage devices obsolete"[1]. It was launched officially in March of 2006 and currently provides secure online file storage and sharing functionality to over 750,000[2] registered users. Box.net separates itself from its competitors by focusing on usability and simplicity.
User accounts range from a basic free account with 1GB of free storage, a premium account with 5GB of storage and a pro account with 15GB. The number of sub-accounts offered, also delineates the different accounts.
