Pira-Pirasong Paraiso (transl.Pieces of Paradise) is a 2023 Philippine romantic drama television series broadcast by Kapamilya Channel and TV5. Directed by Raymund B. Ocampo and Roderick P. Lindayag, it stars Loisa Andalio, Charlie Dizon, Alexa Ilacad, and Elisse Joson.[1][2] The series premiered on Kapamilya Channel's Kapamilya Gold, Yes, Weekend! Saturday afternoon block and TV5's Hapon Champion and Weekend Trip Saturday afternoon block on July 25, 2023.[3] The series is set to conclude on January 27, 2024, with a total of 161 episodes.

The series is ABS-CBN's second teleserye collaboration with another network after Unbreak My Heart with GMA Network and the first teleserye collaboration with GMA 7.

Promotion

To promote the series, the casts held a back-to-back caravan at Vista Mall in Bataan along with the cast of Nag-aapoy na Damdamin.[7] The official full trailer of the series was released on July 10, 2023.[3]

The show is co-produced respectively by ABS-CBN and TV5, but TV5 discontinued their blocktime simulcast agreement with It's Showtime on June 30, 2023 (due to Tito Vic & Joey's departure from TAPE, Inc.) and was eventually moved to GMA Network's sister channel GTV a day later, meaning that the cast of the new shows were not allowed to appear on the said show to promote them. As a result, they promoted both of these new afternoon teleseryes on E.A.T. (now Eat Bulaga!), TV5's new noontime show.[8]

Production

Pira-Pirasong Paraiso was produced by Dreamscape Entertainment and directed by Raymond B. Ocampo and Roderick P. Lindayag.

Development

This show has been developed by Pasion de Amor, Asintado, The Blood Sisters, and Bagong Umaga, due to its genre of family, multiple romance, and criminal drama.

Broadcast

Alongside Nag-aapoy na Damdamin, the series premiered on a Tuesday (July 25, 2023) instead of a Monday (July 24, 2023) due to the second State of the Nation Address of President Bongbong Marcos, which necessitated the networks to pre-empt their afternoon programming to air special coverage of the said event.

This is the first ABS-CBN series to air 6 days a week, which also airs on Saturdays at 2:30 PM, after It's Showtime on ABS-CBN channels and platforms and E.A.T. on TV5.

This is also the first drama series to air on the first timeslot of Kapamilya Gold since Bagong Umaga, which concluded on April 30, 2021, after airing its final episode and the first ABS-CBN original series that aired on an afternoon timeslot to air on TV5.

Prior to the show's premiere, the iQIYI series Hello Heart had a 2-week special premiere along with Saying Goodbye occupying their intended timeslots on Kapamilya Channel and A2Z, with the finale episode of the latter airing on Monday on the aforementioned channels, while Studio5 Presents occupied their intended timeslots on TV5.

The series had a marathon of its pilot week on July 29, 2023, it occupied the timeslots of KB Family Weekend (Kapamilya Channel), Zinema sa Umaga Saturday edition (A2Z), and Cine Cinco Hollywood Edition (TV5) on that day.

Timeslot change

On September 30, 2023, the show changed its Saturday timeslot from 2:30 to 3:00 pm.

On October 23, 2023, the show changed both timeslots from 3:00 pm to 2:30 pm on TV5. The following changes were made to other platforms (except for its Saturday timeslot) on October 30, 2023.
