Hi Total Eclipse 2017 or Total Eclipse 2017 (AWB editing), not sure which to address,

You seem fairly new to Wikipedia, considering your account was created in April this year. It's great that you have such a passion for Clicker Heroes, but we do try to follow editing guidelines when it comes to video game articles. As you can see with my edit, these are perfectly in line with those guidelines.

  • There's no reason to make a piped link for Xbox One to Xbox or PS4 (even when the article title is PlayStation 4) to Playstation (and it's PlayStation)
  • Microtransaction is one word
  • Italics: since it's a video game, we write Clicker Heroes as "Clicker Heroes" and not "clicker Heroes"
  • For a video game article, the general reader should know how the game is played. That is covered in the gameplay section. Imagine never having played, seen or read anything about Clicker Heroes and then reading this:

In Clicker Heroes, Ascension is the method by which the player receives collected Hero Souls. Ascension resets the game world; players go back to level 1, all damage per second is lost, and all gold received is also lost. However, the Hero Souls can then be used to purchase Ancients, which give the player various benefits. A Transcension is similar to an Ascension, except that even Ancients and Gilds (which make individual heroes do more damage) are lost. A Transcension gains Ancient Souls, which are used to level up beings known as Outsiders.

  • Similarly, the 'currencies' section is way too specific and doesn't help the general reader gain a better encyclopedic knowledge of Clicker Heroes
  • Development and release can be expanded
  • If there's any positive reception to be mentioned from the "gaming community", it should be covered by reliable sources, and not original research on Steam player count.
  • "Legacy" is long-lasting impact, having inspired a couple of idle games and having a proper sequel is not "legacy"

If you want to help improve this article, go look at sources listed at WP:VG/RS, see what they have to say about it. Development, release and reception can all be expanded upon. soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:10, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Soetermans: Hmm, not exactly sure how to reply to this. I apoolgize for reverting your edits, I thought I was making the article better, not worse. I didn’t realize that excessive detail in the gameplay section was bad. (Part of the reason I was a bit touchy about it is because I wrote the whole thing from scratch, and I felt like you were making hours of my life worthless by deleting it...) Your edits definitly improved the article. However, I will note that I had nothing to do with the “Legacy” section-that was there before I came here. Anyway, that’s all I have to say, except maybe thank you. Oh yeah, just FYI, you should always ping Total Eclipse 2017. (The other one is only for AWB edits.) Just a question, do you wish for me to stop editing the article further? Regards, --Total Eclipse 2017 (talk | contribs | AWB account) 17:22, 13 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Total Eclipse 2017,
No, the opposite, I think you should keep editing the article and try to get in its best possible state! You professed your love for Clicker Heroes at the article's peer review, but like I said, you seem fairly new to Wikipedia (not that being new here has to mean anything, some people get the hang of editing straight away, some have been editing for years and still get banned because of their attitude). Maybe you can still rewrite the stuff about 'Ascension' and the currencies in-game. Concerning video games on Wikipedia, after describing how the game is played, we try to describe how it was developed, how the release went and how it was received, critically and financially. You can check out WP:VG/MOS, for video game related guidelines. For questions and input, there's always WT:VG, the talk page for WikiProject Video Games. Good luck! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 07:56, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Soetermans: The thing is, I’m not sure that the info about the release of Clicker Heroes even exists. (I at least haven’t found it yet.) What do you do when you need to expand an article but have no sources to do so? Regards, --Total Eclipse 2017 (talk | contribs | AWB account) 22:06, 14 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Total Eclipse 2017, have you used the WP:VG/RS custom Google search engine already? It's curated list of sources considered reliable by WP:VG.
I think these sources can help expanding the article quite a bit! soetermans. ↑↑↓↓←→←→ B A TALK 08:19, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Soetermans: Thank you for the sources! These will help me very much. I’m glad we resolved our disagreement about the “gameplay” section... Regards, --Total Eclipse 2017 (talk | contribs | AWB account) 15:16, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
