Welcome! (We can't say that loudly enough!)

Hello, Syed Sadique Hussain, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages you might find helpful:

If you have any questions or problems, no matter what they are, leave me a message on my talk page. Or, please come to the Help desk, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{Help me}} on your user talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Please sign your name on talk pages and votes by typing four tildes (~~~~); our software automatically converts it to your username and the date. We're so glad you're here! Meatsgains(talk) 22:39, 11 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sure Sir, if I get any problem I will contact you or approach the help desk and thank you for the message! Syed Sadique Hussain (talk) 13:13, 13 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How to send a message to other editors

Communication between editors takes place at Talk pages.

To send a message to another editor:

  1. Go to their user Talk page (e.g. User talk:xxxxx)
  2. Click the "Add topic" button at the top and, when the editing window opens, you can type your message and a subject heading to your post.
  3. At the end of your message, include your signature with ~+~+~+~ (~~~~ four tilde characters).

Note that user talk pages are publicly viewable, so it is not a private message to the user concerned. Even when deleted, the message is forever viewable in their History.

Editor replies: Unless the other user includes a link to your user page in their reply (called a Ping), you will not get a notification that they have responded, so it is a good idea to either check their talk page every now and then, or add it to your Watch list.

To add this auto-updating template to your user page, use {{totd}}

Control copyright icon Hello Syed Sadique Hussain! Your additions to Khuda Bakhsh Khan have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 20:28, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Mam, Some of the sources like the official website of the Khuda Bakhsh Oriental Public Library is available under Public Domain since, it is a Government website. Anyone can use it for their references under Right to Information Act, 2005. The same applies for the Ministry of Culture, Government of India's dedicated page for Khuda Bakhsh Library that contains the details about the same. I have the permission of using those contents from the website and some of the Khuda Bakhsh's Wikipedia page have contents which were deleted due to Copy/Paste of the same words from the website.
Since, I have copy pasted some of the sentences as I wanted to make the Person's Page more Authentic. I will re-write the sentences with my own words to avoid Copyright - Violations and will give the references which are available in Public Domain. So, is it fine mam if i do that? Syed Sadique Hussain (talk) 05:15, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for not replying sooner. The Government of India copyrights their documents, for 60 years from publication date. So it's not okay to copy it to Wikipedia. — Diannaa (talk) 14:18, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about Savage Humans

Hello, Syed Sadique Hussain, and welcome to Wikipedia. I edit here too, under the username DreamRimmer, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Savage Humans, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Savage Humans.

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DreamRimmer}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Disclose clients before creating/editing articles for payment

Information icon

Hello Syed Sadique Hussain. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Syed Sadique Hussain. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Syed Sadique Hussain|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. 2001:8F8:1623:822C:C180:1EC8:230B:AF42 (talk) 19:13, 3 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,
@2001:8F8:1623:822C:C180:1EC8:230B:AF42 Thanks for letting me know about that I have done the discloser of the payment I received for the Wikipedia articles i wrote but I would also like to mention that are majority of my articles for which I didn't took any kind of payment for eg - Adele De Berri or Manoj sharma (voice actor) or other biographies pages etc I created this page for genuine interest for eg - Adele de berri was the inventor of the silver screen which many people didn't know about ......she was also the founder of De Lite ..i even message de lite in their official website to give me more information about her but i didn't recieved any kind mail from them, with regards to the manoj sharma it was the same case .. he was the voice over behind colors kannda and colors super ... as a matter of fact his page was created through AFC Creation and was approved by a senior editor. so, i followed the guidelines, terms and conditions properly for all articles i have published in wikipedia. Also, at that point of time i didn't have much knowledge of how to edit Wikipedia in the right format. Syed Sadique Hussain (talk) 12:42, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Scope creep. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Gerald Fox have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. scope_creepTalk 12:22, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
