Although I should be working on my own business, I cleaned this article up. I'm writing to note that for the 3rd or 4th time in the last two months, I was unable to access/confirm his military records (or those of a possible son of the same name who fought with the Rockbridge artillery). This is either due to problems with ancestry.com's library edition (since the problems occurred at several libraries in Illinois as well as Virginia), or a relatively recent agreement that corporation has made with Fold3.com. FYI, it's likely that Boteler sympathized with the Republicans, or his cooperation with various Republican administrations after the war led to some social backlash.Jweaver28 (talk) 22:49, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
