DoctorOnCall is a Malaysian-based telehealth provider.[1][2] It provides a platform to connect patients to doctors for virtual medical consultations via phone calls, video conferences, and text messaging. Additionally, it offers access to board-certified doctors for non-emergency and non-life-threatening medical issues.

History

DoctorOnCall was established by Maran Virumandi and Hazwan Najib, who transitioned from their roles as management consultants to healthcare entrepreneurs. Recognizing the potential for digital technology to improve access to healthcare services, they developed and launched DoctorOnCall in 2016 to provide a reliable and efficient platform for medical consultations.[3]

Platform

The platform offers a user-friendly interface for the public to access medical consultations from healthcare professionals. Users can opt for consultations via video or phone, with an average waiting time of five to seven minutes. The service is designed to issue medical prescriptions when necessary, following the consultation.[4]

In addition to virtual consultations, DoctorOnCall provides a medication delivery service across Malaysia, including same-day delivery in select areas such as the Klang Valley and Penang island.[5]
