Sekisui House (積水ハウス, Sekisui Hausu) is one of Japan's largest homebuilders. It was founded on August 1, 1960 and is headquartered in Osaka.[1] In 2009, Sekisui House expanded into Australia.[2]
The company has origins in and is affiliated with Sekisui Chemical, which once was a major chemical firm, but has since diversified due to Asian competition; they supply medical diagnostic lab equipment and manufacture pharmaceuticals worldwide. The chemical firm has over 100 subsidiaries and affiliates.
Acquisition
In January 2024, Sekisui House announced a deal to acquire U.S. Homebuilder M.D.C. Holdings for $4.95 Billion in cash.[3]
